On November 15, 2023, representatives from CBM International, Miss Naima Sheikh, Regional Communications and Brand Coordinator at Global Office CBM International, and Miss Benazir Awan, HR and Admin Manager at the CBM County Office, paid a visit to the Sindh Institute of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences Hyderabad. The delegation received a warm welcome from the Institute's Faculty Members, including Dr Shahzad Memon (Associate Professor of Ophthalmology) and Dr Mohsin Iqbal (Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology), as well as the management and project team, including Mr. Raja Raffay Nizamani (Deputy Director Administration), Mr. Jalil Ahmed Rajper (Deputy Director Ophthalmic Community Services), Mr. Shahbaz Ali (Program Coordinator), and Mr. Mehran Memon (Assistant Director I.T.).During the visit, the delegates visited various facilities of the Institute, including the OPD Block, Laboratory, Optical Lab, and Operation Theater Complex. Dr. Shahzad Memon and Dr. Mohsin Iqbal, accompanied by the Institute's management staff, provided a detailed overview of the patient treatment process and the services offered through advanced modern machinery. The delegates were highly impressed and commended the Institute for providing entirely free services to the marginalized people of Sindh, Pakistan.Subsequently, a meeting was conducted with the faculty and management team of the Community Ophthalmology Department of the Institute. The Brien Holden Foundation (BHF), during their monitoring visit in District Badin, visited the site of their project named "Reducing Childhood Blindness and Vision Impairment for Disadvantaged Children in Pakistan), being run in collaboration with Sindh Institute of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences (SIOVS) Hyderabad. The primary goal of the project is to provide Eye Health Training for 1,500 teachers. Out of the primary goal, 1180 teachers have already received Eye Health Training.
