Sindh Institute of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences (S.I.O.V.S) Hyderabad was established by an Act of Sindh Assembly on 9th March 2013 by up-gradation of Liaquat University Eye Hospital. Liaquat University Eye Hospital Hyderabad was established as Eye Hospital Hyderabad in 1963. Incidentally it was the Golden Jubilee of Eye hospital that this up-gradation took place with the relentless efforts of Prof. Dr. Khalid Iqbal Talpur (Founding Director). Furthermore, SIOVS Eye Hospital Hyderabad increase their services at district Khairpur Mir’s and nearby areas through its branch SIOVS Eye Hospital Khairpur in 2022, where the free of cost Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Eye Health Service including OPD and O.T are provided to the needy and marginalized people of Sindh particularly the people of district Khairpur Mir’s and nearby areas.
